In this nine-minute video tutorial, Graham Austin of South Africa's DI Film Company, an editorial, grading, and on-set DI services facility in South Africa, shows you how to set up Assimilate Scratch to take advantage of the Academy Color Encoding System (ACES). Specifically, you'll learn how Scratch's monitoring preferences let you set the output device transform (ODT) for any given clip in a construct using raw footage from the ARRI Alexa, Red, and Sony F55 cameras as examples, and you'll see the difference it makes to the latitude you enjoy while grading the footage.
